(nee Angela Maria Sabatino)
Much loved and admired, Marie was a steadfast, dedicated, whip smart, blunt and open-hearted
mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, mother-in-law, dancing partner, comrade and friend.
To a big life and a blessedly ‘easy death.’
Please join us to farewell Marie in the Chapel of Mount Alexander Funerals, 12 Campbell Street, Castlemaine
on Friday 7th March at 1.30pm.

My dearest old college friend Elly Varrenti, is Marie’s daughter. While we are separated by many miles and many years I have loved my friend from afar and been comforted by her eternal friendship these last 40 years. Marie has never been off the screen for Elly.
Through all the trials of life she has been the friend and mother that has kept my pal on her track, bringing her back to center stage and helping her keep her focus true and clear. I have and will ever love them both.
My darling EV, we will remember Marie and she will be our eternal mum.

To Elly and all of Marie’s family,
we are sending you all our blessing and support during this time.
Loss is always painful.
Peter and Judy Varrenti
I have cherished my close friendship with Marie and Elly for nearly 40 years and will sorely miss Marie’s warmth, her loyalty and the keen intellect she always turned on the politics of the day.
Her loss leaves a big hole in many lives but she lived a very full and demanding life herself.
Much love to Elly, Daniel and Marie’s other family members.

Bella Ciao Marie
What a beautiful service for a remarkable woman
I loved hearing the extraordinary tales of your life through your family and friends.
I’m so glad I met you through Elly and Martine and I’m glad I got to spend time with you dancing and laughing at the hospital.
Travel well comrade
