Briar was a gracious, astute and whacky friend to my mother Gwynneth, then subsequently to me as I maintained the family friendship. Briar was a great listener, had a wonderful ear for music and humour and she treasured her family. I’m sad for the loss of a dear friend. Sincere condolences to Dee, Nick and Chris.
Although I did not know Briar all that well, my recollection of meeting her, is one of meeting an elegant, cheerful and gracious person. She leaves these qualities behind, in my dear friend Dee and grandson Christopher, and her continuation lives on in a beautiful way. My you be comforted by each other and by your fondest memories.
In fond memory of my aunty Briar.
I am very sad to hear of her sudden passing and I am forever thankful for time spent with her just days before her untimely death.
Briar will be sadly missed, but not forgotten, by family and friends alike.
As an educator she impacted and inspired the young minds of countless students for over 30 years. A truly outstanding achievement.
Sincere condolences to Dee, Nick and Chris.
A life well lived.
RIP Aunty Briar.
Fond memories of a teaching colleague and mother of one of my students 1971 – 1975 at Morwell HS. Sincere condolences to her family and friends everywhere 💕
Thank you for your very clever, inventive support and guidance via reverse psychology. You could read your pupils intentions and cleverly guide them back onto a productive path. So grateful that you took on your duties as year level leader with such passion and had an integral part in shaping many confident people. Always remembered.
Condolences to the family from a former student of Morwell High School.
Looking back on our friendship of 74 years, features I’ll remember are the fun we had together as children, Briar’s imagination, her impish sense of humour, her resilience, her eagerness to learn and improve, her acceptance and understanding of another person’s situation, her love and concern for her family. Briar possessed an inner strength that enabled her to make the best of adversity and move on with her life. A born teacher, she was generous with her time, assisting other folk to acquire new skills.
Briar was my adored best friend through the formative Primary School years. Despite our lives heading in different directions, those bonds of friendship and love have stood the test of time, a common thread weaving through our lives.
I will miss you Briar. Condolences to your beloved Dee, Nick and Chris
Ever thoughtful, Briar, you made sure I got my birthday present before leaving. I’m missing you already dear friend. Will raise one for you on Wednesday when we should be lunching with Carolynne and Bruce. Best love, Sue.

Dear Tricky,
I want to thank you for the positive impact you have had on my life.
You always radiated heartfelt warmth and were the perfect blend of intelligence, wit, humour and just a person who you genuinely want to be around.
Although fleeting, I did always thoroughly enjoy spending time together, and you will be sorely missed.
My deepest condolences to Dee, Chris, Nick and all the wonderful people Tricky surrounded herself with. xo
Auntie Briar you were resilient, caring and compassionate.
You put in such an effort to get involved in activities and community.
Although you lost your husband and daughter early you carried in with dignity and continued to make a difference to the lives of those around you.
Courageous and independent to the very last.
You will be dearly missed.
