Sad is the heart that loves you,
silent the tears still fall,
living my life without you,
will be the hardest part of all.
Your loving wife Heather.
You never failed to do your best,
your heart was true and tender,
you simply lived for those you loved,
and those you loved remember.

UJ (Uncle John) you always appeared larger than life and so I can hardly believe you are gone. I will never forget your laughter, and your passion for the cricket. I’m heading off to Notts Oldest Pub to raise a pint in your honour. Love NR (Niece Rachel) x
Dear Heather and Greg and family,
We are so very saddened to hear of the passing of your husband and father – we are thinking of you at this time and do think of you quite often, especially when we sail out over the bay.
Hope you are holding up well at this time.

John you were such a great family man, hard working, community minded, welcoming and showing empathy with the needs of others.
You have been such a help to us over the years because of your skills and expertise. You made up the plans for our house, guided us through the council approval and now 55 years later we are still grateful for your wisdom of putting in wide eaves and having a northerly aspect.
Graeme and Angela Jones
My sincere condolences go to John’s family.
John was one of the loveliest people that I have had the privilege to meet which was bought about through our shared love of animals.
A sincere and gentle man who will be sadly missed by many.
Rest in Peace John.

My sincere condolences to my Friends Heather & Cheryl, & their families.
It is with a very heavy heart that I received the sad news of John’s passing.
I had the pleasure of meeting John while Heather & I met in hospital, approx 8 years ago & a friendship began.
In the time I knew John I found him to be a true gentleman with a big heart, always keen to help others where possible.
He had a quick wit, a great sense of humour & laugh & was a easy man to talk to.
John loved his Family deeply & was a very proud husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather.
And loved his Fur Babies immensely.
There is no doubt John touched many people’s hearts throughout his life.
You will be missed by many John.
I am truly thankful that our paths crossed & a Friendship formed, for that I will treasure.
I will always be there for Heather & Cheryl.
Deb & Family.
We got to know John over the last 20 years from both, he & Heather camping at Echo Bend Camping Park at Easter.
While on holidays, John would always want to be doing odd jobs and major ones about the Camp Park.
Idy’s residence, the sewing room, picnic tables and the stone entrance to the Camp Park.
Over the years, we became true friends. Conversation around the camp fire was endless.
It was a privilege to have known John.
John you can now fly in with the swallows at dusk.

Hey Dad, Pa,
Want to catch up someday, wherever you are, whether it’s for an unforgettable dinner and drinks at Clover Cottage, a cold frothy around a warm fire at Glenaladale or a day spent building something side by side, this shitty planet is a lesser place without you, you cranky old bastard, love you, always have, always will.
