It was great working with Larry for this year’s Hot Rod International No. 14. In the time we were able to work on my Design Gallery for that issue, I found it a distinct pleasure to get to know him.
We had made plans and were looking forward to getting together for his trip to the U.S. for this year’s Street Rod Nationals in Louisville Kentucky. Sadly, that was not to be and I mourn the loss of this dedicated and creative soul… a highly valued professional and knowledgeable spokesperson for the Hot Rodder in all of us – Worldwide.
My heart-felt condolences to Mary and his immediate family, as well as all the staff at Graffiti Publications. And – all the folks in Castlemaine and worldwide that surely know; that Larry is irreplaceable, but hopefully his spirited involvement and dedication shall always live on.
Even for a brief time – I’m sure glad I got to know you friend.

I have known Larry since the first edition of Australian Street Rodding, when he came to an ASRF meeting in a little church hall in Kew, to promote the new magazine and sign people up. Larry lived hot rodding and it showed in the magazines over the years with how to articles on his own cars he was building along the way, a true hot rodder passing on his knowledge along the way. A true legend of the sport and he will be sadly missed. R.I. P. Larry
Condolences to Mary and family and also his Graffiti Publications.

I will miss our annual Friday night dinners at the Street Rod Nationals, it was one of the highlights of my Nats for many years. We would discuss the joys and challenges of building hot rods and publishing our magazines on the subject. We shared many laughs. I will miss those evenings, but I’m fortunate to have many memories. Condolences to Mary and Al and hot Rodders everywhere. I will remember Larry for his writing style, his cool hot rods but most of all I will remember Larry as a longtime friend, Larry was a real hot Rodder, I can think of no higher praise.
The staff and students of the Castlemaine Secondary College Etty Street Campus would like to pass on their deepest sympathies to Larry’s family. Larry was a generous mentor to the Etty Street Campus students, supporting them to engage in their education through hands on learning and a shared love of cars. His passion and enthusiasm was infectious and he will be sorely missed.
Larry – thank you for providing inspiration and encouragement to our students.
You were a true community leader.
