Deepest sympathy to Trev, Rex, Lee, Wendy and families.
Your dad was a great man, honest and hard working.
I hope there is plenty of wood and a sharp chainsaw upstairs for you Ec.

Eric was our loved neighbour for 40 years, exceptionally talented of great integrity, independence, loyalty and caring. He was a great role model to our children who regarded him as a grandfather. Eric and Nancy were always the silent helpers in times of need. Eric was always interested in what was going on, was never heard to be critical of individuals and if he disagreed, rarely commented but you knew from his look what he was thinking. We will miss him.
Lilian, Peter, Tamara [dec], Melanie {dec}, Marcus and families.

  3. Lynn says:

A quiet, hard working, no nonsense, practical, salt of the earth man who was dearly loved by his family. It was a pleasure to know you Mr Nichol.
It’s time for you to rest now and be with Nancy. Hugs to Lea and the rest of the family.
    Lea’s friend Lynn

Eric will be remembered as a very down to earth person with great family values. Eric and Nancy were well liked and respected members
of the Castlemaine Historic Vehicle Club of which they were members for over 40 years. It was always a pleasure to meet up with Eric.

  7. Emma Toll says:

Some of the things I will remember about Pa.
The stories of you working in the shearing shed, long before my time.
Watching the football where players and umpires who did something you disapproved of were called ning nongs and the silent hysterics we’d be in because
heaven help us if we talked during the game.
Old time dancing in Campbelltown, watching you move so gracefully across the floor with nan, mum and then being so patient as I learnt. With your hand barely
touching me but guiding me all the same. Dancing the pride of erin with you at my wedding.
The stern, but loving way you dedicated your life to looking after Nan.
You feeding Bonnie biscuits after dinner. Your general love of animals and ability to love them all.
The fact that we always managed to find you in the shed working away. Your incredible talent for restoring all those motors!
Your Boxing Day naps and general ability to nap sitting up watching tv whilst sitting on the plastic strip on the carpet instead of on the actual arm chair.
Bragging that my 95 year old pa still lived out in strathlea, cut wood for the stove and fire and kept doing all of the things he loved right up until the end.
I’m so proud to call you my pa. It truly warms my heart to know that the night will shine a little brighter with you up there looking down on us all.
    Love your Emmy Lou

So sorry to hear of Eric’s passing. Lovely man and was great friends with Marj and Harold Schroeder (both dec). Eric, Nancy, mum and Harold would do a lot of travelling together and we would love hearing about their trips and the fun they had. Thinking of you all at this very sad time.
Annie, Wendy, Debbie, Davey and Wayne Martin xx
