Ray passed away suddenly on Christmas Day aged 74 years.
Dearly loved husband of Maree.
Loved and very proud father and father in law of Ashley and Janelle, Tracey and Scott.
Loved and proud Grandpa of Madison and Corey, Alannah, Nicholas, Jakob and Alex, and Charlie.
Little did we know that morning, the sorrows that day would bring,
the loss was sudden, the shock severe, to part with one loved so dear.
We could not say our last farewells, or even say goodbye,
for you had gone before we knew, and we don’t know why.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone,
for part of us went with you, the day that you went home.
Family and friends are invited to attend Ray’s funeral service,
to be held in the Marong Community Hall on Thursday 9th January at 2.00pm.
Following this service the cortege will leave for the Marong Cemetery.
After the burial service you are warmly invited to join Ray's family
for light refreshments at the Marong Golf Club.
If you wish to join us at the service via livestream
please return to the home page of this website and click on the livestream button.
The service will be live approximately 5 -10 minutes prior to commencing.

Ray, it saddened me to hear of your passing after my recent visit. I didn’t know you for long but enjoyed the conversations we had over the past year. You will be sadly missed on my future visits to your home. It’s hard not to make connections with kind people. May you rest in peace. My deepest sympathies go to Maree and family. Thinking of you all during this difficult time.
Anita – Intereach
Our deepest sympathies to Maree and family on the passing of Ray.
Ray was a much loved and respected member of the Marong-Leichardt fire brigade for which he was active for some fifty years. He was honoured with a life membership to the brigade and his commitment to the local community was selfless and outstanding.
Ray was always pleasant to all and had a memorable cheeky grin that kept us all smiling.
The final bell may have rung for Ray…but he will never be forgotten.
Rest in peace.
Members of the Marong fire brigade.
Gary and Maxine Parlby.
