  15. Barnesy says:

    Stix,
Terrible news to hear of your passing, you’re such a gentle soul, I’ll cherish the bus rides home as we always had a good laugh.
I remember one time on the way home you said you were going camping on your break. I said “are you taking the van?”
You replied “no just my special swag, one bum wide and two bums high “we just lost it laughing as always.
    Rest easy mate.
I’ll have a ‘BIT ON’ for you when the cats play Carlton.
    Cheers Barnesy x

  16. Jacinta Slade says:

Today we remember and celebrate my uncle a truly hard-working family man who gave so much of himself to the people he loved.
He was someone who never shied away from responsibility. No matter how long the day or how tough the job, he showed up, put in the effort, and did what needed to be done. His work ethic wasn’t something he talked about it was something he lived, every single day.
Family meant everything to him. He was always there in the ways that mattered most steady, dependable, and caring. Whether it was offering help, quiet support, or just being present, you always knew you could count on him.
And then there was his sense of humour. He had a way of lightening the mood, making people laugh when they needed it most, and reminding us not to take life too seriously. Those laughs, those moments of joy, are memories we’ll carry with us forever.
He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, love, and laughter and while he may be gone, the impact he had on our lives will never fade. He will be deeply missed and always remembered.
    Jacinta

  17. Jake says:

Big fella, known you for a few years now!
You really knew your stuff when it came to the rigs!
Helped me out in a few sticky spots and we always had a laugh after wards!
You’re a legend mate and I was proud to work with ya and have the occasional tin or 2 after work!
I’m sure you have a BIT ON up there 😉 much love to a great man xx
Hopefully we get that “payrise” mate 😉😉
    Rest on big fell.

  19. Jamie-Leigh says:

Stix had the greatest sense of humour and always made us laugh.
I remember Barnesy telling me that he had gone into Stix’s room where he was staying as he had set off the smoke alarm and said to Stix “What are you doing?”
…to which he replied “Got a bit on, cob.”. He was well known for using that phrase.
He was kind. I remember one day when he brought in chocolate chip cookies to work for all of us that Charmaine had made. They were delicious!
My heart goes to his family who we all knew he loved very much.
It will not be the same without you.
    Jamie-Leigh

Stix! I will always remember you with a big smile, our late teens, 20’s, 30’s 40’s and now, just embracing our 50’s…a lifetime of memories, laughs, wildness, calmness and most of all family happiness. You bought so much to every adventure we ever made, our families blending as one huge happy place.
You were the whole world to Maine (Mum), Jamie, John and Dylan and I am so blessed that me and my children got to be small part of that world.
Forever in my heart, a friend always.

    Missed
    Never forgotten
    Love Ya my friend
