  5. Jenny Grace says:

Brian you stepped into the role of our step father when I was just 13 years old, you stayed for 50 years, not many men would have taken on that role to 7 kids,
but you did …and we thank you for that and for being by our Mum’s side.
Sad to say goodbye, but we know you are now in peace reunited with Mum.
    R.I.P Brian

  7. Tahnee & Harley xoxo says:

Our one and only Pa/Great Pa,

I will always remember my teenage years walking to your house after (or during) school and either watching the footy or deal or no deal in the lounge, showing me your paintings (I think that’s where Harley gets his skills from) or walking through your beloved garden and teaching me how to look after each plant- especially your Bonsai’s.

I spent so much time with you and Nan and that didn’t fade as I grew older, it was just more precious time that I had with you both.
I felt your love grow even more when Harley was born and you both just loved him so much and it showed in more ways than one.

You loved when we visited from QLD often and you were always so excited to see us and to share what you’d been up to and there was nothing like seeing your face when you saw Harley ❤️❤️

The conversations you both shared warmed my heart and he is going to miss you so much but im so grateful he had a Great Pa like you!
Im so grateful for the memories that we both have of you and Nan & they will stay with us forever.
‘Your wings were ready but my heart was not’ 🤍🤍 Reunited with Nan for eternity 🤍

    Love forever,
Your grand daughter Tahnee & your great grandson, Harley ❤️❤️❤️❤️

  8. Cody & Leila xoxo says:

Pa, words cannot describe how much we are going to miss you!
Your smile lit up an entire room, your laughter and cheekiness will always be in my heart.

The memories we have together will be something I will cherish forever, the times when we were younger when Tahnee and I slept over at yours & nans house. Having breakfast, lunch & having hot chocolates together at the table will always be one of my favourite memories. As well as when you and Nan came to Queensland to visit us and you had a swim in our pool, even though we have lived a state away from you and Nan, we have always made the effort to visit you countless times to hold these beautiful memories together. Something so special that we will hold together forever.

We always say Harley has got his talent in painting from you as he loves creating paintings which he did many for you which you proudly displayed along the linen cupboard at home. I wish so deeply that you got to meet our Leila in person but we were so blessed to have many face times so you could see each other. I will always tell her stories of you and Nan and how much you both love her and will continue to guide both of us through our life.

We are going to miss you so so much pa, you are now reunited with Nan who you have missed terribly for the past two years, now you can finally rest in peace with your most loved one.

We will love and miss you so much.
    Love always & forever,
Your granddaughter Cody & your great granddaughter Leila 🤍🤍🫶🏼🫶🏼

Mr Carnell … as I called you when first meeting you and your family, living across the road in Shepparton.
Became good friends with Leanne and Vicki. Spent holidays over with you all in Castlemaine.
We will be always friends and a beautiful man has left this world leaving his footprints.
Collingwood will win the flag for 2026.

  10. Leah Peters says:

Brian, I will miss your happy smiling face when I would surprise you with a visit from Queensland. It didn’t matter how long in-between visits were,
we would always pick up from where we left off.
I loved how you always looked on the bright side of life and gave your opinion of difficult past times with dignity, never taking sides; you were just there when I needed to talk.
You were a talented craftsman, with your wooden toys that the kids loved, an artist; your paintings hang with pride on your walls, and most importantly a Life member of
    ‘The Mighty Pies’ go Collingwood.
You were always caring, asking how the kids were going and especially when our Danielle was ill and passed away.
May you rest in peace, I’ll have my phone handy for your pocket dial calls that turned into hours of chat.
    Your step daughter Leah 😥💙

Brian, you made the transition from city ambulance to the country so easy for me. I have so many memories of stooges corner with you and the boys,
listening to Collingwood play, from now on won’t be the same.
Give Joy a big hug for me.

To Brian’s family, our sincere condolences to you from the Plein Air Painting Group.
Brian loved to paint and was so enthusiastic about his art.
He received a great thrill when he sold a painting at one of our Festival Exhibitions.
    He couldn’t stop smiling.

  15. Donald and Margaret Barnett says:

Treasured friend and long time neighbour of Donald and Margaret. Thank you for getting me started in the great sport of Lawn Bowls.
Unfortunately you never saw my Premiership Medal. Essendon-Collingwood games and Doveton Street won’t be the same without you.
