In loving memory of Daodeva Westward
1938 –2025
With heavy heart’s and serene relief we announce the passing of our mother, Daodeva Westward,
on 16th January 2025, a week shy of her 87th Birthday.
Dee was a woman of remarkable resilience and tenacity who faced life’s challenges with the cunning of a Kitsune.
She was known by four different names, was married twice, and is survived by four unique, diverse children, and five grandchildren.
Memories of Dee will be forever held in the hearts and minds of her family and friends.
Blessed Be
A service was held for Dee on Thursday 30th January.

“Our revels now are ended.
These, our actors as I foretold, are all spirits, and are melted into air, into thin air.
And like the faceless fabric of this vision, the cloud capped towers, the gorgeous palaces, the solemn temples, the great globe itself, yay, all that it inherits shall dissolve.
And like this insubstantial pageant fade to leave not a rat behind.
We are such stuff as dreams are made on, and our little life is rounded by sleep.”
William Shakespeare
Prospero – The Tempest, Act IV
Go down along the willow walk
Where fronded leaves dance o’er the stream
And you will find that God is there
If perchance you stay to dream
Walk along the shingly beach
Where foaming waves dance upon your feet
And you will find that God is there
Waiting for you both to meet
Lay upon a grassy bank
With fleece white clouds far above
And you will find that God is there
To fill your heart with love
When you wake in the dead of night
With the moon shining through your window wide
You will find that God is there
He is always at your side
In all of life, through pain and joy
When you ask for his embrace
Then you will find that God is there
With eternal love and grace

Blessed Dee. Go gently on wings up there with your beloved birds, flying free.
Much love,
Diane
You can shed tears that she is gone,
Or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray she comes back,
or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left.
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her,
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her and only that she is gone,
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back,
or you can do what she would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
