David passed away surrounded by his loving family at Bendigo Hospital on the 7th of June 2023.
He was a family man with a generous heart and values that were respected and admired by us all.
The many people who knew him will be feeling a great sense of loss at this news
and we would like to invite you to swap stories and enjoy the many happy memories of Dave
at the memorial/wake at The Bridge Hotel in Castlemaine on Thursday the 22nd June from 2-4pm.
Rest in peace Dave.
A true friend & great mate.
Always had a bag of lollies for him at kids birthday parties.
Will miss the banter&cheerful face.
Sadly missed.
Leanne, Geoff & family.
We use term ‘good bloke’ a lot. Dave was the epitome of a good bloke on so many levels.
It was a pleasure and privilege to have known him and we are all poorer not to have him around anymore.
He had a great sense of social justice and was always interested in people.
A lover of country music and a great story teller.
Any negatives? Yes. He barracked for Collingwood.
Miss you Dave.
– Ken
My beautiful uncle Dave,
Saying you will be missed is an understatement. Every single person you met never had a bad word to say, I always had friends and friends parents, in-laws all say “Oh Dave, what a lovely man!” Or “Dave is great! So relaxed and such a kind nature” never was a bad word said. When you went, I had primary school friends even recalling the fond memories they had of you. Always friendly, always welcoming, always easy going. You were so much more than just my uncle, we were all so lucky to grow up with such a present and involved uncle. How blessed we all were to share this life with you. Rest easy now, I love and miss you always.

David you were such a beautiful human being. You were the person I was always excited to say hello and chat to at family gatherings. Always so deeply generous with your time and your energy for others around you, with always a wise piece of advice or observation. I’m devastated our little August won’t get to know the amazing soul that you were. Wherever you are now David, the whole world’s light is a little dimmer without you here.
So much love

Dave was my cousin, childhood mate & lifelong friend. Always a welcoming smile. He had a great love of all things family & delighted in sharing his family stories & an attentive listener hearing all mine! He was non judgmental of people or circumstance, had an amazing/enviable outlook on life, was quick witted, was great company. Simply a lovely human being who will be greatly missed by myself, Bernie & girls. He enriched our lives, wonderful memories to cherish forever.
Rest In Peace dear ‘cuz’, love always, Jude.
Time has gone by so quickly David and we have missed opportunities of seeing you. Queensland is a long way away to attend all the family reunions, which I know were so much fun and great get togethers. Rest in peace my cousin.
Always in our hearts love Helen & Paul

In all incarnations, wherever my soul resides, I’ll adore you (and your joyful nature!).

I’m proud to have been a member of your family David.
You have been a true Mansergh, caring, honest and a worthy human being.
You will be missed by all those close to you.
Dave was the finest of men whose generousity of spirit and sense of humour blessed us all. He was the Zen master of the Manserghs.
Dearest Dave
Oh how I will miss your physical presence, however with over 60 years years of the most wonderful friendship I know we will never be apart in spirit.

You were my mentor sage and great mate.
The whole Hallinan Clan loved you and looked forward to your visits to Grassy Head and the Nambucca Valley were many of your greatest fans reside.
Love ya brother.

David, we will miss your smiling face, your good-humoured & friendly presence.
Our last chat was about your grand-kids who brought you such joy.

As a young girl I looked up to you admiringly.
You were such a good looking (always tanned) man with a cheeky grin and sense of fun.
As I grew I saw how beautiful you were inside. Your loyalty to others shone through.
You spoke proudly of your friends, parents, sister Alison and partner Rob, and especially your daughter Inez and her partner Rich. The many stories about your grandchildren Oscar and Daisy were a delight to listen to. As were the many conversations we had on social justice (which was very important to you).
You always spoke up for the underdog.
But it was your smile we will hold close to our hearts. Your smile and giggle lit up any room you entered.
So we raise a glass to you mate.
Hope you get to enjoy a beer with Ray, Bert, Graham and a cup of tea (and cake!) with Marion and Claire.
We miss you already
Chris and all the Kemps
Dearest Dave,
Hard to say goodbye, still can’t believe we won’t be seeing you again.
I’ll always miss the hugs we used to have, they were very special.
I’ll make sure though that a big piece of whatever sweet is going is saved for you like I always have.
You weren’t a relative by marriage to me, you were my second brother and I’ll always miss you.
Hope you are somewhere beautiful and we’ll see you there when it’s our turn.
Much love, Sue
Dave, you will always be deep in my heart & bones.
Thanks for all the great times that I got to share with you.
Love & Eternity.
Pete.
THE STAGE IS ALL YOURS TODAY MATE … TAKEN TOO SOON.
