Thinking of Jenette and family at this sad time.
George, the man who has been and will always remain the true example of a gentlemen.
Even though he is much more to so many, George was the man who would give out chances. He gave me the chance to become a bus driver and then coach driver, leading by example and rewarding effort and skill with even more chances to excel, which many of us did. Through George I was able to establish my childhood dream career lasting 40 years. No amount of thanks and appreciation will equal what he offered and encouraged. I wish he is now resting peacefully forever.
Nifty Nev and Joy Dewhurst.
George was a big part of our family’s life.
He joined our family business of Kangaroo Flat Buslines in about 1975 and from there the business went from strength to strength.
But more than that he became a family friend for life and our mother (dec) had a huge amount of respect for him and definitely valued his opinion and advice.
George had a passion for buses and throughout his retirement he has restored several very old coaches and has also collected a great deal of memorabilia.
Sympathy to Jenette and family.
We have lost a true gentleman.

What a beautiful service for a true gentleman, and a legend in many ways, that I am blessed to have shared many connections.
From a business association of 10+ years….many fond memories…he would also be there with a smile at 5am mini bus pick ups
… and say “come on, hurry up” when I was 5 mins late.
To a connection with the Dawson family, through Sam and our son Blake’s long-standing friendship, where we witnessed George
instilling morals and values in his wonderful family.
George’s legacy will live on through the generations.
Sincere thoughts to Mrs Dawson, Dave & Jenny, Linda & Bruce and your families.

Great memories of George whilst I worked at KFBL.
George and Jenette were so kind and understanding to me a young 25yr old man who had moved from Morwell to Bendigo for a new life and I will always remember his kindness especially in my early years in Bendigo.
Rest in peace George and may Jeanette and family be comforted knowing you are at rest with God above watching over you all.
