About Gloria; as written by her:
I was a full time house sitter/pet minder from October 2016, until lockdowns in 2020; and from December 2020 onwards.

In February 2023 I moved to Castlemaine, where I'll be currently residing from now on.

I'm reliable and caring.

Previous employment has included massage therapy and manufacturing.

I grew up with cats and dogs, and as an adult, have had four dogs.  My fox terrier, Whitely, came house sitting with me for three years.

After a fabulous life, he passed away in 2020 aged 16.

I enjoy being able to offer peace of mind to pet parents while they're away, knowing their little ones are loved and cared for; entertained and exercised.

I send daily photos, and keep you updated.

I'm happy to stay at your home, or to have your lovelies stay at mine.

Gloria was a kind and caring person who was loved and appreciated by all who knew her.
Her gentle demeanour gave her a special connection with animals. She was an intuitive, gifted soul who understood exactly what her animal friends needed.
I feel so sad that Gloria has passed away, but feel comforted knowing she peacefully left this world in the company of her loving friends Alfie, Daisy and Pippa.
    Rest in peace Gloria.
With love from Dominique, Hein, Stephanie and Alfie xxxx

I feel so sad to not have the opportunity to say goodbye to Gloria.
In the relatively short time our family knew her we were so incredibly grateful for her kindness, gentleness, and dedication to our animals.
I will miss our beautiful chats over a cuppa in my kitchen. Such a rare and genuine soul.
    Rest In Peace beautiful lady.

So sad to hear of Gloria’s passing. She was very special and will be missed by the many friends she made since moving to Castlemaine.

  5. Robyn White says:

    Gloria was a lovely lady.
I enjoyed our occasional catch ups when she was in Maldon, me a coffee and Gloria always hot chocolate, and lots of laughs.
Gloria had an infectious smile and her eyes twinkled when she laughed.
From the first meet and greet, her love of dogs was obvious. Whether it was a long stay at my house, or a sleepover at Gloria’s, my dog Kaylee was well looked after with lots of walks and ball time, but especially being allowed to sleep on the bed! No wonder Kaylee was always excited to see Gloria.
I am so grateful to have known Gloria. She will be greatly missed.
    RIP Gloria …. Robyn

  6. Rosie says:

We did not know Gloria for long but we knew we had struck gold. Gloria was committed to the welfare and happiness of our whippet.
She was kind, generous, honest and honourable. It was such a joy to see Gloria out and about with all her fur friends. We miss her.
    Rosie, Robyn and Blondie.

  7. Noel Murray says:

Shocked and saddened to hear of Gloria’s passing.
It only seemes like yesterday that we talked at the Botanical Gardens. For nearly three years she cared for Riley and Evie while I was working in Melbourne. They loved her and the care and affection she gave them was incredible. They really enjoyed their stays and would go nuts with joyful anticipation as we got close to her place. Her great affection for the dogs in her care was truly a measure of her kindness and goodness.
    Vale Gloria.

  8. Marilyn Krueger says:

Gloria was my cousin. We spent many fun days playing as kids and on holidays or with our grandparents. Way too many stories about things we did and memories that will just be ours now to keep. Always a bubbly active person Gloria was never shy about speaking her mind. Although we had not seen each other for a very long time, my mum Florence, her Aunt didn’t keep in contact regularly. Gloria had a wonderful father Fred who passed around 15 years ago, and her mother Dawn passed when she was very young. She depended on relatives as her family as an only child. She practically lived at Nan and Pop’s when she was a kid. Nan did make great cups of tea and loved a good chat. It was sad to hear of her sudden passing, not really sunk in yet. Gloria was a high spirited, determined, caring person, who I know will be missed by so many. Sending love from our family, to all the other cousins who will miss her as well, plus her aunts and uncles. Rest in peace sweet girl, you’ll always have that smile on your face, a cheeky grin and a secret to keep xxx

    O Gloria,
We only met you in the gardens a few times with Winston and Geoff, who came and sat on our feet, we so loved that.
We are so, so saddened to hear you have gone over the Rainbow Bridge yourself.

  10. David says:

Shall remember Gloria (who cared for our dog with such sincerity), for her warmth and generous way of being.
Her passing represents a great loss to the Castlemaine community.
Her positivity and spirit, which were always so apparent, will continue to shine on.

  11. Katrina says:

Gloria thank you for your warmth, positivity, care and kindness. We were so lucky to have you in our lives.
Gibbs and I have a new routine as we drive past to say ‘thank you Gloria, we love you’.
    Rest in peace.

  12. Mary Hassall. says:

I feel Blessed to have had dear Gloria as a friend and next door neighbour for the last few years.
She had a sensitive sunny creative outlook on life. Her secret, she once told me was avoiding listening to the news and politics!
Gloria was a keen DYI person in her rare spare time. She finished building over time solid fencing around her flat to extend the space for her furry visitors.
Another project on the go – the renovation of her “Marbled” bathroom. She was planning to stay longer than she did. Such a sudden shock.
Dear Gloria, Although I am a mere human, you certainly made me feel “Loved and cared for”. Thank you G. for being all this and more.
    Love Mary Hassall.

  13. Tori smith says:

Gloria was the most kind natured, lovely friend to humans and animals. We felt so lucky having Gloria in our lives and never a worry when going away knowing she was staying in our home watching our dogs. Gloria was so thoughtful, caring and attentive. I will miss our catchups and our boys miss you sleeping over spoiling them.
Thankyou for having such a lovely heart.

  14. Alison says:

We are both saddened and shocked to learn of Gloria’s passing. She was bright, beautiful and cared deeply for her dogs and their familles. Her deep connection to the dogs she cared for really demonstrated what a good soul she was. Always a joy to speak to and she will be missed so much by her friends and the wider community.
    Rest peacefully Gloria 🖤

  16. Colleen Garsed says:

Gloria and I spoke many times over the phone BUT sadly we never actually got together for that cuppa that we so often spoke about.
RIP Gloria….I know that you are missed by so many people and their furbabies whose lives you were a big part of. 💕🐾

  17. Anita Ewert says:

My cousin Gloria is being farwelled on Monday 20th between 11 and 12pm.
I live in QLD and was only notified recently. Please pass on my condolences to all family that have made their way that day. Especially my twin sister Gail Cartwright, we both spent childhood times as cousins together. Gloria, we did enjoy our time together, however, as life passes we all drift away when we have our own immediate families and commitments. We sadly loose touch, however, the past memories together will always remain. We thought of Gloria fondly. Always will. Please pass on my thoughts. Yes, she was a very caring person. She will still be missed.
Regards from cousin Anita Ewert (need Krueger).

  18. Selma says:

    Rest in Peace
