Roger, you were one of life’s true gentleman, kind and giving.
Hope you are now at peace with your deeply beloved Cassie.
I will miss you Rog!
Words cannot express the deep sadness felt by Roger’s family at this time.
A man who was dealt more than his fair share of life’s challenges, he faced them with resilience and patience, just like his Dad.
Roger was a kind and gentle person who took pride in the achievements of his family, whom he loved very much, and he cherished his friends of which there were many.
Thank you to Mt Alexander Hospital and Thompson House for your care of Roger.
The Brooks Family
I had the privilege of knowing Roger for nearly 16 years. He was one of the first residents I met when I came to work at what is now Dhelkaya Health. Roger was incredibly resilient, highly observant and very supportive of his friends at Windarring and staff and residents at Renshaw and Thompson House. He could be wickedly funny one minute, gentle and tender the next, a complete petrolhead with a sensitive, loving, caring nature. He took his work and his friendships seriously. Thompson House won’t be the same without him. Deepest sympathy to his family and those closest to him.
Condolences to Roger’s family, we had the pleasure of knowing Roger through our daughter Cassie (dec) they had a great friendship, relationship.
Now you can both continue with each other.
From Robert and Christine Higginbottom
Roger was a resident at Thompson House for a long time and he always greeted me every time he saw me when I would be working with “Hi Jenny, how ru going?” and I would reply “good Roge how about you?”.
He would always walk up to me and ask “How’s David going?” (that’s my husband) and “how’s the Cuzzy going?” (which is one of my hubbys old cars) that he took Roger for a few drives in and he never forgot it.
He loved old cars and was so knowledgable about them.
You should have seen his eyes light up when he met Declan Fraser, a Motorsport Driver, as he had his race car at his Grandmother’s funeral, and Roger was there, as Carol would always talk to Roger about her grandsons racing career and Roger used to follow him on the TV or in the papers.
Roger was one of a kind and saw many friends at Thompson House and Windaring pass away over the years.
The last few years Roger has really been struggling with his health.
R.I.P. Roger.

I had the absolute privilege of being able to care for and get to know Roger at Thompson House. He loved cars and we talked often about cars my husband has.
He was a gentleman, with a wicked laugh and great sense of humour.
May he rest in peace.
Roger … a true gentleman.
A man who walked tall and was respected by all.
You touched so many hearts .
Cheers

It was a privilege to know and care for Roger.
We had some great chats, and he always greeted me when he first saw me with a “hello Kathy”.
Roger will be missed and Thompson won’t be the same.
R.I.P. Roger.

Roger was a gem of a man, he was so caring, had a love of life, was loving, interested and interesting to talk to.
Always respectful to myself and my daughter Deanna, who also knew Roger through work at Windarring.
He will be missed heaps.
