Rest in peace, Val.
We’ll always remember you for your hospitality whenever we visit, and your love of life.
And your fitness regime, even in your golden years, gives us encouragement to follow your example.
May the good Lord be with you.

We are deeply saddened by the death of Valentine, whom we hold in high esteem as a most edified and erudite person.
Our condolences go out to his sons and their families.

Valentine and Cynthia were among the very first people to befriend us when we came to Bendigo in 1980.
Jennifer worked with Cynthia, and we all played bridge and had an interest in wine. We remember an excellent day when they took us on a tour to introduce us to Bendigo’s vineyards. The Bendigo Bridge Club has helped to foster our friendship through the years: Valentine was playing (very competitively!) right up to the last week of his life. We will remember him for his warmth, his conversation, and his legendary hospitality.
It was a privilege to count him as a friend.

Thank you Valentine for embracing me into your life and family.
The last 20 years sharing life with you & Hermie, your boys, their families and Hermie’s family was also a privilege & a great pleasure I can’t possibly put into words.
Thank you for sharing your passion for wine, food, wildlife and life in general.
Thank you for your wonderful sense of humour – I will always remember your laugh following a story, a remembrance or an amusing news article you had read.
Thank you for all the dinners & lunches you have hosted – simply wonderful!
If I could have chosen the perfect uncle, I can’t think of a better person than you.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything.
God bless and rest in peace.
With love Bruce Milne
Happy memories Val.
