Long time nursing colleague and treasured friend of Jean Edgar for over 30 years.
Loved daughter of Elsie and Jack Saxon (both dec) and sister of Maureen Tetlow and Jacqui Day; Very special “Aunty Gerry” to Joanne and Geraldine, Lisa and Robert and their families (Lancs UK).
Arrived Australia 1978 under sponsorship of Anne Caudle Centre to follow and develop her professional passion for Gerentology and Dementia Care Nursing, gaining great respect for her knowledge and caring approach. Her quiet, gentle but fun loving nature and quirky Lancashire humour endeared her to all, especially those in her care.
After post graduate studies and as director of nursing, Mirridong Home and later nurse manager, dementia care, Bethlehem Aged Care Home, she introduced various innovative contemporary programs to improve quality of care for the visually impaired elderly and dementia residents.
On retirement from nursing Geraldine, as co-proprietor of Art Supply Bendigo, pursued a lifetime interest in art, establishing a reputation as a knowledgeable and accomplished artist among the art community.
A beautiful person and quiet achiever.
Gone but never forgotten.
A private cremation will be held.
