Celebrating Leanne Crisp
Leanne had a simple approach to her life.
It would come as no surprise that it included:
- looking after her animals
- being able to look after herself
- living at home in a peaceful and beautiful environment.
Her 17 year battle with cancer ended on April 3, 2021. We will miss our cheeky, quirky and tenacious friend.
A private cremation has been held.
A "gathering" to meet up and share stories will be held on Saturday, April 17 2021 at
87 Kooyea Lane, Strangways from midday.

Leanne, what an amazing, positive person. We first met at Melton Waves when she participated in my aqua class for the first time. I introduced her to the lovely ladies and the rest is history. She became family. I will cherish the wonderful memories of those times and admired her strength. R.l.P. dear friend xx
Dear Leanne,
What can I say, every time we caught up we always were having a laugh about something. Most the time Missy being her usual sassy self, having you wrapped around her paw.
I may not of got the chance or lucky to have known you for very long, but in the short time I did, and I am thankful for the memories.
Meeting and helping you through homecare was always a blessing.
Rest in peace Leanne, you will be sadly missed.

Leanne, I will never forget the first conversation we had at Melton Waves when you told me your cancer story. We, the ladies who took part in water earobics became your “New best friends” as you used to call us. Who can forget all the birthday lunches held in your home? Then your contribution to our Relay for Life fund-raising activities, from cooking & serving sausages at our many sausage sizzles, to selling raffle tickets & more. I will never forget you walking all night at one of the Relays or your inspirational talk during the candle light ceremony at another. Leanne, you were one brave, cheeky, funny lady and an inspiration to all who knew you, I will never forget you, RIP, you deserve it.
Dear Crispy,
I remember the first time we met was back in your ANZ days, when you were living in Melbourne with your 80 something Granny. We were pretty newly arrived from Canada, and you invited us over on a cold, dark winter evening, sat us down in your living room with the fire blazing, a big fuck-off glass of Wolfblass Black Label Shiraz, cranked up Chrissie Hynde and the Pretenders on your brand new B&O Redline speakers, and with that big warm smile of yours, said “Cheers mate, welcome to Oz!” You then got us up for a dance, so Granny came in to see what was going on and joined us, dancing in her shawl and her knee high Ugg boots.
We had a few times together my dear Leanne, and you had a spark in you that will remain with us all. Farewell dear, dear little Crispy. You were loved.
My dearest Leanne, it is so strange to think you’ve gone somewhere else. You were my first dear friend in Melbourne. I was just off the boat from Canada and we loved each other straight away. You were so good to me. Always helping. Because of you I have a lasting love of B&O stereos and Australian Crawl. I always think of you when I chop parsley…which is very often and as I write this I picture us in your kitchen while I tried to force you to learn to cook! You helped me through so many crises and I’m sad to say I wasn’t really around for you much as you struggled through your health issues. While we lost touch over the years you were always in my heart and always will be. You with your beautiful smile and big heart. Safe journey my dear friend. I love you. Kelly

I remember us swimming across Paynesville Lakes when we were very young – you said you would beat me and you did!! We met through my cousin in law Peter who was your mum’s brother. Such a fantastic family. We had a great time. This was prior to us both joining the ANZ where we met up again.
You had so many great friends through the years at the ANZ. Don’t know what we would have done without Alison (Mother) keeping us all out of trouble.
I am happy that you had a lot of great friends after the ANZ at both Melton Waves and homecare.
Give them hell up there Crisp.

I have wonderful memories of us laughing while working at ANZ. Been able to share that time with you and your move to Melton brings a smile to my face at those memories. We were working in a fun team and we all shared that quirky sense of humour. It is how we survived the challenges of the day. I am glad to know that you had such happy times with your animals and with great friends.
