I was twenty two years old when I first met Rita and even then I knew she was extraordinary. She could see straight into the goodness and the possibility in everyone. She was able to hold the lives, the hopes and the day-to-day travails of a family of eight. She gave them her unconditional love and then let them fly. And just as an aside, she was also phenomenally intelligent and beautiful! I’m glad to have known you Rita. Vale.
With all my love. Clare
Rita was an extraordinary woman and I’ll never forget her walking from the train station in Melbourne with her luggage to the Catholic Church where we met for Christmas Mass in December 2019.
I was very fortunate to have been in Australia in December 2019/January 2020 and for getting to meet my late father’s youngest sister and hearing about her amazing life experiences.

To Rita Moclair’s family.
I am Rita’s nephew from Canada.
Sadly we have not met and I am very sorry to hear the passing of your mother, mother-in-law or grandmother. My parents have told me so many amazing stories about Rita. My dad and mother would always comment on how beautiful she was inside and out.
Our thoughts and payers are with you.

I met Rita while visiting my daughters a couple of years ago.
She was such an amazing hostess.
Her elegance was the first thing I noticed about her and her cooking was absolutely delicious.
Rita was full of life and love.
She really carried the Moclair spirit of warmth, friendliness, good humor and good nature.
I will miss Rita dearly! ❤️

I just watched the service with mom, Rita’s sister Angela on the live stream in Birmingham.
What a lovely, lovely service. You did your mom proud.
My mom was transfixed, and it was incredible to see her dementia desert her for the whole time. She loved every moment and said how much she would have loved to have been in Australia today
She adored Rita.
Love and prayers to you all

I met Rita in the 1980’s in her home in Renmore, Galway. Paulette had me over after college one day and added mine to the many mouths needing fed. Rita didn’t bat an eye, graciously serving me a roast chicken dinner. I fell in love with the entire family that day and have never stopped thinking of them all, although many thousands of miles are between us.
My deepest sympathy and thoughts go out to Rita’s kids and grandkids on the death of this extraordinary lady.
Much love, Betsy Kinneen
Watching you all say your final farewells to your dear mother was a truly moving tribute to a special lady who deserved all the accolades you could bestow on her. As we say in Ireland, she reared you well and she would be very proud of you all. I remember her well as a stunningly beautiful woman, who exuded calmness, caring and love and loved to laugh. Rita’s sister Mary, was married to my uncle Jarlath Garvey.
Please accept my sincere sympathy on the death of your beloved mother.
