  1. Danny Mann-Segal says:

I worked together with Andrew at Cabrini for many years.
He was a wonderful individual and I am proud and feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to be friends with him.
He will be sorely missed by the medical, nursing and allied health staff of our ward.
May his memory always be a blessing.
    Wishing you all my best,
    – (Dr) Danny Mann-Segal

  2. Helen Smitka says:

Andrew was proud to be part of the nursing staff at Cabrini Malvern 1 North Rehab and previously Elsternwick Private Hospital. He entertained us and many of our patients with his Shakespearean Poetry and Aircraft knowledge. He was very diligent in his role as Basic Life Instructor and helping out with the medication rounds, any manual handling jobs and the occasional handyman jobs. He was always an hour early for his shifts, any later than that and he would say he was late. He often helped out before the start of his shift but not before he made his breakfast! Sometimes patients mistook him for security when they saw him in his leather jacket, bandana and medallions. He was known throughout the hospital as the “Pirate Man”. The hospital was like Andrew’s second home and we appreciated his effort to travel from Woodend. Farewell Andrew, may the Angel and Ministers of God’s grace take mercy on us all.
    XXX Smitty.
