Jan
I am heartbroken like a lot of others. We knew each other for 40+ years.
Our children used to play together in Newman.
I remember you came back to Western Australia (I am now in Tasmania).
One time we had lunch in a quaint Swan Valley tea shop with Jo.
Another time we went and had lunch with Trevor.
I am very sure you were very proud of each and every one of your children.
All my sympathies go to your children, who I am thinking of at this very hard time and I feel for them.
Your friend
God bless
Robin (Innes)
Although retired and terminally ill, Jan continued to give exemplary pastoral care, to us and to others.
We thank her.

The Reverend Jan Harper … a good and faithful priest … you have entered into the eternal embrace of The Christ.
I will plant some sunflowers in your memory.
Rest well dear Jan 🙏❤️🙏.

Jan,
You were a wonderful person and guidance to us all.
You will be missed.
– Kyra, Mat, Jimmi, Marli & Paddy
Deepest condolences to Jan’s family on your sad loss.
Jan and I first became friends and classmates when we were 11 and starting at Springvale High School. Although I moved to Canberra at the end of that year we caught up as teenagers in Yarrawonga and I remember Jan visiting me in Canberra on the back of Doug’s motorbike. Since then I have greatly enjoyed seeing her in Melbourne and in Canberra. Jan was always a lovely, gentle and compassionate person and I know she will be greatly missed.

Dear Jan became a valued member of our Christian Meditation group at the Bendigo North parish,
and we will dearly miss her contribution and presence which was an inspiration to us all.

The Song of Memory…..when someone we love passes on beyond life in the world that we know and is gone, a beautiful sense of their presence,
like music remembered by heart, lingers on….so now Jan is singing a song of praise before God’s eternal throne…..

Dear Jan,
I loved working with you. You were so kind and compassionate.
I remember our last catch up at the Sour Dough bakery.
You were so happy to be in your new home and enjoying your garden so much.
R.I.P. Jan I will always remember you.

Rev Jan was such a special person.
We had a beautiful lunch together many years ago in Swan Hill.
Very few have the ability to become instant friends as we did.
Am trying to find the link to your funeral. We are currently flooded in.
Sending prayers & love to my dear friend 🙏❤️
– Christine Coleston
Sweet-natured and wise; clever and fun; a beloved sister and a close friend.
My life will be so much the poorer without you.

Jan
You were my support and guide in my darkest times.
But above all you were a genuine friend.
We had great times when we got together with our grandchildren and had our craft days.
You will always have a special place in my heart.
– Pam
Jan was my dear sister and I am missing her so much.
She lived an amazingly rich life, full of loving and giving.
She was with me when my daughter was born xxx
I loved how she managed to be so serene and gentle, but stood so strong.
This seems too few words to encompass her whole, rich life.
How glad I am to have so many memories of that whole, rich life: her wisdom, her kindness and support and reflection, and the little delights of shared time, food, stories, people, laughter.
My sister.
– Joy
A loving and kind sister in law.
Jan will be missed very much 💕
– Lynn Dean
My grandma was a strong, independent woman of love and care, I will miss her every day. She put effort into so much, and didn’t hesitate to remind us that she loved us.
Nothing will be the same without her laughter and care.
Rest well Grandma, you’ve earned your peace and rest.
– Theory Nightshade

Our thoughts are with Jan’s family at this sad time. Jan was very much appreciated by her parishioners in Bealiba St David’s Anglican Church and I appreciated Jan as a friend and I especially appreciated her visits to Coates Hostel, where my mother enjoyed her services and talks.
We will miss you Jan.
– Jenny Lovel
You were a blessing in my life and I’m sure many others.
You taught me so much by just being you.
So gentle and thoughtful.
May God bless the generations of your family and help them hold happy memories of you.

Jan, we missed you when you left St Arnaud, but we will remember you always. Your warm and caring nature was appreciated by so many people in our town, not just the ones in the Anglican Church. Your outreach was to everyone and those who met you felt appreciated and loved. Maurie and I would look for the light in the Anglican Church in the evenings which you always turned on, and we miss them now. You were a light which shone in our town in so many ways – often quietly and without fanfare, like the light in your church. Thank you Jan for your care for our community. Your example lives on, but we miss you.
Love, Pat & Maurie Wood
