Bev left us peacefully on 25th March 2023 aged 84 years.
She will be missed by her loving husband Barry,
children Cameron and Kirsti and their spouses Heather and Jeff,
grandchildren Caitlin, Brydie, Daniel, Michael, Aaron
and great grandchildren Archer, Zoey, Zayne, Beau and Arlo.
Little did we know that morning, the sorrows that day would bring,
the loss was sudden, the shock severe, to part with one loved so dear.
We could not say our last farewell, or even say goodbye,
for you had gone before we knew, and only eternity knows why
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone,
for part of us went with you, the day you were called home.
Family and friends are invited to attend Beverley's funeral service,
to be held in the Chapel of Mount Alexander Funerals, 12 Campbell Street, Castlemaine
on Monday 3rd April commencing at 10.30am.
Following this service the cortege will leave for the Castlemaine Cemetery.
After the burial service you are warmly invited to join the family for light refreshments
at the Railway Hotel in Gingell Street, Castlemaine.
We are saddened by the sudden passing of our dear Sister, Sister-in-Law and Aunt, Beverley Margaret, and are comforted by the knowledge that she is now at peace.
We share the grief with her Husband of 60 years, Barry, and their family, Cameron and Kirsty and their families and offer our love and heartfelt condolences. We have been a close family and have happy memories of extended family life over many years, both in Ballarat and Queencliff with parents Bill and Emma (Both Deceased).

Dear Bev,
Your time has come to leave us. We did not get to say goodbye but are with you in spirit.
You were the other mother in my life growing up; the voice of reason, you taught me to be the best I could be in whatever I did. You taught me understanding and you gave me courage to speak up when I thought it was necessary. You were a very important part of Jodie, Tania and Allison’s lives as they were growing up.
Many happy shared memories for all of us Bev .

My name is Norman Grills and I am a cousin of Bill and Emma Selkirk’s children. My mother was Molly Symons, the eldest sister of Emma Symons who married Bill Selkirk.
All the Selkirk children loved to come out to our farm at Ascot – Beverley, Robert, Heather, Iain and Cheryl (Cherry).
When I was about three, I have a vivid memory of the Selkirk’s arriving from Ballarat and me taking Bev’s hand and walking her over to the wood shed, then asking her to marry me.
She very demurely said yes, and I was rapt – she was very fair and pretty! The lovely innocence of little children!
They were very happy times at the farm for my sister Mary and I when the Selkirk children would arrive, and sometimes stay.
Bev was very good in the swimming pool and became a bit of a diving champion, and then met the love of her life Barry.
Over the years, I completely lost touch with Bev, but wanted to come to her funeral. Unfortunately, my age got in the way.
Goodbye Bev, and sorry Barry for your loss.
I know you really stuck by Bev in her last years.

May the Singleton Family accept my sincere condolences on the passing of Bev.
She was a highly intelligent, knowledgeable and respected person who contributed greatly to the early Craft movement in Victoria.
Her gentleness coupled with her strength to meet life’s challenges was wonderful.
