I am saddened by the passing of Bob, a very respected friend and team mate in Barkers Creek Cricket Club’s first CDCA A grade premiership team in 1968/69.
Bob will be remembered as a great Barkers Creek batsman, especially for his classic square cuts.
I am proud to be a fellow life member and team of the century member with Bob.
I am also fortunate to know how good Bob really was as a batsman, an all round cricketer and most importantly one of Castlemaine cricket’s finest sportsmen.
He played cricket with great honour and respect.
Deepest sympathy to Norma, Neil, Leanne and family.
– Philip Benstead (Sadly the last surviving member of BCCC 1968/69 premiership team)
Dear Neil, Leanne, Lach, Larn & Families.
