Barry passed away peacefully at Royal Freemasons in Kangaroo Flat on 15th June 2023 aged 86 years.
Dearly loved husband of Pamela (dec).
Loving father of Elizabeth, Christopher and Paul.
Much loved Pa of Dayne, Bryce, Lachlan, Bella, Joshua, Nathan and Caitlyn.
Mum and Dad reunited.

Barry Phillips
Barry’s contribution to the Maldon FNC was extraordinary, but his contribution to the Maryborough Castlemaine District FNL was also very noteworthy.
He served on the MCDNFL Board for approx 12 where he was a wealth knowledge. His understanding of the MCDFNL By Laws and Constitution was 2nd to none, and he oversaw a complete refresh of both the By Laws and the League’s articles of association which was an incredible effort.
Prior to joining the Board, Barry was also responsible for co-ordinating the League’s Tribunal operations. He acted as Tribunal Secretary for many years, and sourced volunteers and managed the Tribunals operations for many years to ensure this important role in the league was professionally adhered to.
His enthusiasm for the league was also evident during representative games and particularly finals, where he acted as Ground Manager, Team Manager, Results Secretary or generally filled whatever other role needed to be done. He would regularly arrive at 7.00am and wouldn’t leave until 7.00pm and really enjoyed the opportunity to be involved in these showcase events for his beloved MCDFNL.
Barry also was instrumental in the MCDNFL establishing its own dedicated Junior Presentation night for junior football and netball, which the Maldon FNC hosted at Maldon & then at Bharinghup for many years.
Barry’s life was one of selfless volunteering, to his club, his league and his community.
The MCDFNL thanks Barry for his amazing contribution over many years.
