I personally had the great pleasure of knowing David since I was 5 years old through his eldest son Tony.
As a child I always found him welcoming and generous with his time, providing wisdom and imparting knowledge freely without ever a thought of receiving anything in return. Where he got that old fashioned one armed bandit I never knew.
I would get to see David regularly as Tony and I went through our teenage years and his company was forever a joy.
After not having seen him for many years it was wonderful to share lunch with him, Hillary, Tony and Fiona some 8 years ago and time had not changed him one iota.
A true gentleman and a gentle man.
Our thoughts are with the entire Griffith family.

David has been a valuable friend for over 40 years. Our association began through business when he responded to my panicked call for help in bringing my company;s
EDP systems up to an acceptable standard. He not only guided this hopeless computer nerd to a basic understanding of computer operation but successfully installed systems which enabled my company to achieve its full potential and gain a strong position in a very competitive marketplace.
David gave generously of his time and expertise and was incredibly thorough and patient in implementing and explaining new systems.
He had an infectious sense of humour and laughed often – able to see the humorous side of even the most challenging situations.
We became good friends, enjoying each others company and sharing similar views on politics, family, society and the benefits of country living.
He was a very positive influence on my son and gave him great support prior to entering university.
My condolences to Hilary and the family – he will be sorely missed.
Vale old mate – rest in peace .
