    Dad/Oc/Pa,
I am so thankful to have been able to spend so much time with you in your last few days. I loved being able to cook on the barbie for you
a couple of times in your last days (you sure enjoyed that steak!) and to enjoy your company over a beer and a wine.
You thanked us many times in the last few weeks for all we were doing but it was nothing compared to what you gave us.
Thank you for teaching me so much. Thank you for the many great stories, jokes and constant laughs. Thank you for being my Dad.
    I will always miss you.
    Love you cobber.

  2. Anna Sanders says:

Uncle Alan I will always remember you for funny names you called me. All the funny times as I grew up, spending time at Nan Barbara’s eating slide cakes and raw apple pies half cook. May you rest in peace my beautiful funny uncle. Say hello to Nan Barbara. Deepest condolences to Lil, Sharon, Matthew and families.
Rest in peace my amazing uncle Alan xxxx🌈

  3. Vicki Naughton says:

Sending love and hugs to Sharon and family and Matthew and family.
Enjoying a chat and a beer with those who welcomed him with open arms.

  4. Sharon Crimmins says:

I have so many memories. Being hoisted onto your shoulders to be carried, you flicking out your false teeth, ‘stealing’ my nose, working in the garden with you, painting the iron lace with you, you burning the sausages on the BBQ after a few beers then scraping off the charcoal so we could eat them; laughing the whole time. Lecturing me “now you’re almost 16 Shan, you need to find a rich man to marry so I can be kept at a standard to which I wish to become accustomed”. You taught me to drive and despite your misgivings it turned out ok (eventually). Your devastation when Dean died. Endless balls bowled at Matt. Making brandy custard with you at Christmas. The fish without the vinegar. Your stoic support of Paul when he had that horrible car accident. Your pride walking me down the aisle, your devastation when Paul died. The love you had for all your grandkids and watching you play all the same tricks on them you did on us older kids. Your amazing support of mum when she got sick, and your ongoing care when she never really recovered to full health. Caring for you when you got so unwell at the end and you constantly saying “you’re so good to me Shan”. No I wasn’t Dad, I was just giving back what you gave us all. You were so loving, bright, and bloody funny. A great Dad, and wonderful grandpa and a good all round bloke. I will love you always, and miss you forever. Rest in peace Pa, rest in peace.

  5. Julianne Pulford (his niece) says:

My dearest Uncle Alan. The last time I saw you in 2023, I remarked that your skin was so soft and wrinkle free.
You replied, with one finger on your cheek – “oh – that must be the Oil of Oolan I use!”
    Thanks for being you.
