Brenda was such a character. Always so bubby and full of life. A one eyed Collingwood Football Club supporter!
She lifted spirits wherever she went around Castlemaine.
    Rest in peace Brenda.
    No more pain.
    🌷
    Shoshie

I met Brenda years ago when I was out walking, and she was in her garden.
A lot of people in town knew her, because she was so friendly, and always cheery.
She loved animals, and in particular, her little dog Tiki.
    Rest in peace Brenda.
    A sad loss.

Brenda, self proclaimed Queen of Castlemaine, and our neighbour for 24 years, we watched as your spirit was carried by 3 wedge tailed eagles, in the month of Aquarius.
The street will never be the same again, we’ll miss your crazy antics, raucous laugh, and love of the Pies. You were one of a kind Brenda, a hippie, traveller, activist, agitator, muck raker, shit stirrer, artist, gardener, earth mother, mother, Grandioma, and lover of creatures. You loved Castlemaine, and the community is a little less colourful with you now gone. Rest in power, and peace.

Our love to Dylan, Josh and family xx

My first neighbour when I moved to Castlemaine some 25 years ago. You greeted us on your welcome wagon with your trademark laugh and big smile.
A kind soul with a heart of gold, head strong and fiercly independant.
    Rest peacefully.

Big love to my two brothers Josh and Dylan as you journey through the passing of your lovely mum Brenda Joy.

Every time Brenda saw me she would burst out her arms into a big heartfelted embrace, so excited to see me.

I have kept for 50 + years a crochet hippie vest Brenda made me in the late 60’s, Brenda used to make and sell the crochet flower power vests back in the 60’s,
I will wear it on Saturday (its a wee bit small but I can still wear it)

Big Love from your big sister Sandie O’Brien xx

  10. Bev Fisher Don Fisher says:

Brenda Joy, your parents and mine were good friends back in the Wangaratta High School days, we did enjoy those years together. Whenever we got to see you, it was always that loving smile & hi Sprouley from your beloved Don. Always loved the time we bought 2 of our granddaughters from Bendigo for a visit, plenty of laughs and a touch of embarrassment at times for the girls but we all sure enjoyed our visit with you. Can understand the complete town of Castlemaine will never be the same with the Queen of laughter and happiness to brighten their lives. RIP dear girl. Happy dreams.
