Sally showed such kindness to all creatures great and small and was so interesting to talk to about her views on current affairs.

Oh Sally, this is so sad to hear. A second goodbye, but this time forever. I wish heaven for you is filled with all the animals who knew your kindness. And with the humans who were good to you. And I wish there is a corner up there where you can walk the streets of London, old London from before those ‘hideous buildings’ as you called them were put up. I took my son there as you know, right after I saw you last. And we bought you a small Paddington memento. Which I never got to give you because you were gone. ‘Paddington is a good bear’, you would say firmly, ‘He is always polite and says thank you and please.’ Go well dear Sally, and keep loving all those creatures great and small.
