Maree, I have very fond memories of both of your parents. Both our families spent long hours working voluntarily at Templestowe Pony Club for many years. Those years taught us a lot more than just riding. We learnt about friendship, hard work, responsibility , winning, recovering after setbacks, the list goes on. Brian and Junes smiles, kindness and love of your large family are stamped in my memory. Your old truck and all your family unloading various ponies always brings a smile to my face.
Such a happy close family, where both parents are committed to the joy of their children.
My parents Ron and Dorothy Williams will be so sad to head that June has passed away. They are now 89 and 88 years old. We are so lucky to still have them.

  2. Elaine Lane says:

Thank you June for the long friendship we had over 29 years.
You were the one that sore my hole in one when I had only been at Rosanna Golf Club for 6 months 1992.
The excitement was the start of our long friendship.
Our trips to your Van at the beach were always lots of Golf & Fun for all of us.
You will now be in God’s hands & hope you catch up with John & Deb
    Rest in peace now
    Your Golf Friend
    – Elaine Lane

  7. Marj & Bill Aumann says:

June was a wonderful friend to Bill and I and our children from the time when we first met at Templestowe Pony Club. The children all arrived with their ponies and parents travelling in the old truck from Croydon first of all and then from a property in Aumann Drive near the pony club. Soon there was a friendship group with Mittons, Aumanns, Rices, Englands, Thoms, Dorans, Kearneys and many others. Years of good fun and competition took place along with the Sunday night get togethers after pony club.
My friendship with June continued on when we started playing tennis at Templestowe Tennis Club. Lolita Booth was given three rookies to form a team with June, Marge England and myself. We had many laughs with our tennis days they were such fun never mind the competition often followed by drowning our sorrows after yet another loss. Poor Lolita she forgave us and became a longstanding friend to us all.
Our friendship took another turn when golf entered the scene. June was a very good golfer and had to put up with me trying to get a handle on this difficult sport. Our golf days were always full of fun and went on for many years. Numerous friends were made at Rosanna Golf Club and the end of year concerts were something to be seen. We also had great times travelling down to the caravan to Point Lonsdale supposedly to play golf but really just an excuse to get together and have fun.
June & Brian worked long hours for many years in the Donvale TAB and our friendship continued on over the years.
June was an exceptional mother looking after family and how she and Brian managed to control the children I will never know, there was always something going on in the Rice Family. June & Brian were very proud of their children and what they achieved.
I will miss June and her friendship to me personally she was a very caring, loving person and also Brian, sorry I can’t be with you to celebrate their life together today.
God Bless you June, forever in our hearts,
Lots of love to you all
    Marj & Bill Aumann
