My pride, my joy, my darling son. Taken too soon and too suddenly.

I will hold every Kaney Boy hug in my heart forever.

Eternal love, Mum x

Kane, I have lost not only a man who I was proud to call my son, whom I loved and admired, but also a great mate.

I will remember forever. Godfrey.

You were the person we admired most in the world. The best brother and uncle anyone could ever wish for.

We were so lucky to have you.

Forever in our memories. With broken hearts we say goodbye, Rachel, Shaun, Sarah, Tom, Stephanie and Jace.

What we’d give for one more hug. You were my brother and my best friend.

Tragically taken too soon Kaney Boy. No words to describe the pain and loss we all feel. You were an amazing, gorgeous nephew and cousin. We will love you and miss you always. Our hearts go out to Rose and Reuben, your adoring wife and son; Carla and Godfrey, your loving mother and stepdad; loving brother Malcom, sister Rachel and stepsister Sandra; and all of our extended families. We will always remember our “little fluffy boy” too tired to eat dinner after playing with your cousins in WA and falling asleep with your face in the mashed potato. The world is a lesser place without you Kane.
    Love you so much
Aunty Phyllis, Uncle Noel, Jai, Kim and families.

  5. Kim Taylor says:

Kaney Boy, we were not part of each other’s “Every Day” but family bonds are strong and my heart is so heavy. You were this sweet heart of a little kid, sparkling blue eyes and bouncing white curls that we all adored. Then you grew Into the kindest young boy and then a man who always had a smile to give and an infectious laugh. We have so many great memories of the times we did share growing up that I am grateful for. I am sending all my love to the family you left behind.
Love always your cousin Kim, Nige and Family oxo

How do you say Goodbye to someone who means so much? You were more than a cousin growing up, you were a best friend, a conspirator and my fiercest protector.
This ‘city girl’ would love just one more bear hug from her ‘country boy’ Kane.
    Love always, Han.

  8. Brett Collins says:

Dear Rose, Reuben and all of Kane’s extended family, we would like to express our sincere condolences on the sudden and tragic loss of Kane. He was one of the worlds most genuine, kind, caring and loving souls and the world is going to be so much poorer with out him. He will be missed dearly by all that knew him. He loved his family so much and had time for everyone who crossed his path. Only the good die young and this is certainly the case here. RIP Kane, 44 years young forever.
Sending much love to you all, Brett, Bianca, Jack & Henry.

  9. Kitty Skeen says:

More a brother than a cousin growing up – I will cherish every moment we had together. Cubby huts, exploring, playing with your plastic farm animals and trucks (and the real animals too), the most amazing Christmas days. All those endless years of footy matches when the swannies kept losing and you were ever the optimist! Grown up nights out at the clubs, dancing until late knowing that you were my biggest protector and cheerleader. Your big bear hugs and infectious laugh and husky voice. Getting to see you be with the love of your life Rosie and the most amazing father to Reuben. You’re a one-in-a-million sort of person Kaney Boy and my life has been enriched because you have been a part of it. I’ll miss you so very much. Xx Kittymouse (teach Kit)

  10. Renee Bennett says:

    To Kane,
The love and joy you shared with your family and friends was infectious. You were so generous, so caring, so kind, and saw the good in everyone. I will miss your warm smiles, your cheery greetings, your big, enveloping hugs, and, of course, our footy season messages during Swannies matches (and yes Kane, you always added that last word, that last emoji). Love you Kaney Boy.
    To Rose and Reuben,
I am so full of sadness for you Rose in losing your gorgeous and loving husband, and Reuben your adoring and proud daddy. You were such a delightful little family.

To Carla and Godfrey, Rachel, Mal, Sandra and families,
Words fail to describe the pain I see you all suffering in losing your beautiful son, stepson and brother. Kane, I’ve read all of these comments on here and not one is far from the truth.
You are everything they say about you, the pinnacle of man, the one all men should aspire to be like.
If all men treated their women, children, family, friends and co-workers the way you did there would be no place for anger, greed or violence in this world.
I know you changed many lives for the better, most of the time from just being you.
We all love you, we all will miss you.
I’ll forever aspire to be as good of a man as you were.

    Kane,
My late husband Kevin and I could never get over how kind you were, how selfless you were when our farm and home were flooded at Canary Island South in 2011.
It was devastating but you turned up with a heart of gold, removing damaged furniture and wet soggy carpets and everything in the house, working tirelessly and long into the night helping Andrew and Kev.
That was typical of your generosity, no questions asked, no expectations.
Our family are devastated that you have gone, way too soon.
Our thoughts are with Rose, Reuben and your extended family.

  43. Helen Thompson says:

When Rose introduced her love, Kane, we were delighted.
My spirited, intelligent sister had met her match. They would visit us in N.T. and there was never a dull moment! Kane’s humour, energy and great heart lit up any situation and he was a natural choice as MC at our wedding. Once the kids came along he became an adored uncle: cheerleader, player, or philosopher.
We will always draw strength from his funny metaphors and enthusiasm for life.
We are so thankful for the inspiring partnership and wonderful home that Kane and Rose created. They seemed to cast a net of joy around them: full of cheekiness, perseverance, hilarity and kindness.
Our kids are all great cousin friends now.
Rose and Reuben carry his legacy and though our memories we will cherish and be inspired by Kane always.

I still cannot believe the amazing Kano has left this world.
Sending so much love to Rose and Reuben, and everyone who knew and loved him.
I have so many great memories of my time working with Kano, including when he saved me from a giant huntsman spider that appeared in the car with us as we were driving home from a harvest training, and how he would order a steak sanga for brekky because he felt like a steak for dinner at the country motels!
We were so grateful that he MC’ed our wedding – who could mistake that voice?
He will always be remembered with love – a true diamond in a world of coal.

  51. Ryan Bennett says:

    Dear Kane,
A treasure of tributes to read – each speaking about you with love and joy in knowing you!
You’re sincerity and openness of heart captured both the hearts and minds of others.
With you, what people saw is what they got. Writing these few words from a drizzly Edinburgh, I share with everyone writing here with deep grief and loss. It was a joy to preside at your marriage to Rose and a further joy and honour to be a God father to Reuben – tuning into the Baptism on your phone from New York!
The sadness, pain and loss will take their course. For now – we celebrate you and the wonderful human being you were.
Rosie & Reuben along with Kane’s family & Walsh’s – love and prayers.

    Ryan & the Bennett’s.

  52. George and Marg McQualter says:

    Oh Kane! What a tragedy!
You and Malcolm were such good friends to our son, Tim. You both spent so many fun filled hours at our home, as Tim did yours. Kane you were always friendly, caring, thoughtful and funny, but not without the odd prank chucked in. What a great time our family had with you.
Rose, you will gain strength from the love Kane had for you and Reuben.
Reuben will grow up always knowing what a great dad he had.

To Carla, Godfrey, Malcolm and all Kane’s family,
words cannot say what a great guy Kane was.

Deepest sympathy from George and Margaret McQualter and family

Kane you certainly were one in a million. One of natures true gentlemen – Taken too soon.
We didn’t get to see you very much in the latter years, but those great big bear hugs and that gorgeous smile on your beautiful face will never be forgotten. ……you just oozed love and kindness. Family gatherings will never be the same without those big hugs and that beautiful smile.

  65. Briony Templer says:

Sincerest condolences to all of Kane’s family and friends.
Kane was one of the most genuinely kind, considerate, caring and passionate people I have ever met.
Despite having many lifelong memories of Kane, my defining memory is the 1991 Western Oval VFL Swans vs Doggies 35 points all draw, in the beating, freezing, muddy almost sleet-like rain. At full time the oval was flooded with supporters from both teams. Kane passionately ran onto the oval, promptly slipped over in the knee deep mud, got up, kept running and didn’t even care that he had to sit like that in the car all the way home to Bendigo, such was his enthusiasm for the joys of the game.
    Go Swannies.
    Always in our hearts,
Love Briony, Adam, Elliott, Glenda, Terry, Bec, Brett and Kirra.

You always brought joy and laughter with you and you will be sorely missed.
All our love Melinda, Kev, Georgia and Lily Haley xxx

  75. Sarah Beveridge says:

I’m so incredibly grateful to have known Uncle Kane. As an uncle and as a human being; he was as good as they come.
So many of my best memories are times spent with Uncle Kane. Riding on his shoulders as a little girl at Easter Parades, yabbying together, taking his tiny boat out on the bay for a fish, talks until the sun came up, and hiding out at his place watching comedies together when I wanted to run away as a teenager. To me he was an uncle, a mate, a trusted confidante, and a constant source of love and support. A person I will always aspire to be like. Forever in our hearts and memories.
Love you so much Uncle Kaney

  77. Glenn Murrells says:

    Kano,
You were one of the best blokes I’ve had the privilege to work with.
Always going the extra mile and happy to help, often putting yourself out to make sure someone else got what they needed.
You were a legend … counter lunches and a couple of sneaky pots were our business meetings.
“She’ll be right buddy” still rings in my ears with you laughing at the end.
    R.I.P. Kano
