Linda and family,
My sincerest condolences, I am so sorry for your loss. Peter was a great bloke.
He was the old head at South Mildura (good old #18) when I started my footy career there and was always a delight to talk to …and while I hadn’t seen him is such a long while, I will remember him fondly.

One of natures great blokes, was in awe of the big fella from my days of playing basketball for demons in the 70s in Mildura.
Rest easy Pete… my condolences to Linda and family.

Dear Linda, Alison, Melissa and Jess,
I remember Peter as a gentle and kind man with a warm smile.
Together with Linda, you raised 3 intelligent, mature and thoughtful daughters and it was a pleasure to be a part of their early years.
What a wonderful role model Peter was!
He doted on his beautiful girls and was so proud, as he deserved to be.
I have no doubt that you, Linda, continue to be a role model for your girls and grandchildren.
I am sorry to hear of your loss and hope that special memories comfort you all.
Love and hugs, Kerry Koops (previously Birnie) 🌸

Dear Linda, please accept my deepest sympathy to you, your girls and grandchildren.
Peter’s family were friends and neighbours of Kerry’s family in Nichols Point and later we were fortunate to have you as our neighbours in Irymple.
Many happy memories over cuppas!

Gone but not forgotten.

Linda and family,
Beautiful heartfelt celebration of Peter’s life today.
I was sorry to hear of “Big” Peter’s passing.
I am younger than Peter but always remember him at family gatherings for his physical size and even bigger laugh.
The name “Big Peter” was very apt as Peter was a large personality and Peter Hickey is my brother who was much younger and smaller than ” Big Peter” at the time.
No doubt you will miss Peter dearly, but also after time have many loving moments to reflect on and be inspired by!
Tony and Kay Hickey
Such a beautiful service for a wonderful man.
A real testimony to his life.
I see the love and strength in you Linda and your girls, Pete would be so proud of you all.
Pete R.I.P., you may not be able to wrap your arms around your family anymore, but you send a message and there is a community of family and friends ready to help.
Thinking of you all and sending big hugs.

Dear Linda,
I’ve just finished crying and laughing whilst watching Peter’s farewell.
What a wonderful tribute to your darling Pete.
Ali’s song was so moving, as were the words of you, Ali, Melissa, and Jess, as well as Pete’s siblings and friends, including of course, Di and Ester.
A testament to the impact he had on all who had the honour of knowing, loving and being loved by him.
Thank you for allowing me to attend, albeit remotely with a candle lit for Pete and a gum tree from my front yard.
I loved hearing Pete’s voicemail message at the start of the slide show and watching the wonderful pictures that captured the essence of what was important to him – family and friends.
I only had the honour of knowing Pete and you in the last chapter of his life.
I truly admired how courageous and determined he was and often marvelled at your ability to continually strive and problem solve to improve his quality of life.
You are Pete were a wonderful team and brilliant role models to all who knew you, including myself.
Thanks to you both for teaching me so much and allowing me into your lives.
I will miss seeing his cheeky smile on Zoom.
My thoughts are with you, Ali, Melissa and Jess and their children and partners.
