Goodbye Vic, a much loved friend for many years. I will remember you as calm, intelligent, thoughtful and talented.
I will always fondly recall our philosophical and political discussions from Monties days.
I wish there were more people in the world like you, and I’m so sad that your life was not as long as it should have been.
Life is brief, like a candle in the wind, and we should remember how bright it burns.
Farewell my friend.
Anil
Our dearest Uncle Vic
We will forever cherish our memories with you of kicking the footy in the hallway and backyard cricket games.
We love you & we miss you deeply. You will forever be in our hearts ♥️
Love your nieces & nephew Olga, Paul & Elaine xxx
I can’t believe you’re gone Vic.
You were one of my closest friends—someone I could turn to on my worst days and trust without question. You listened with your whole heart,
always open to deep, honest conversation. You were smart, thoughtful, and kind, and you made the world feel a little less lonely for me as a migrant.
I will miss you deeply 😔

Vic…
I hope you’re in peace and kicking back in comfort.
We met in 1980, I think, at Prahran College, Lucky to be at Artschool before they were swallowed by Uni’s.
We both migrated to VCA to do post grad together in 1983,, you convinced me to drive cabs in the Summer of 82.
Probably one of my best ever summer student jobs, read more books waiting on ranks at 2am than any other summer.
I think I repaid you by getting you a job in a sex shop the next summer. We liked to mix it up! Again working til the wee hours of the morn.
Please again I wish to thankyou for your massive contribution at C&B.2002-2021 almost 20 years. King of stretching. Masterful and super speedy.
Vic you were kind, compassionate, smart, and wise.
We could discuss Art, politics, philosophy, literature, culture and of course footy…Collingwood distinctly.
Between us Vic, I can’t really believe it’s over.
But rest up Vic cause I’ve got a job for you when I get to the otherside.
Thanks for everything Vic.
Lots of Love
Mark Chapman
Dear Vic,
I was very sad to hear of your passing. You were such an important friend to me when I first moved to Melbourne in 1984.
I met you at VCA. We shared a lot of life together, art, music and experiences. You were a lovely human being.
I miss you Vic and love you.

Farewell to dear old mate Vic.
Was there a subject we didn’t discuss across the work table? I can’t think of it. Even the interminable passing of time itself was a concept under constant scrutiny.
He tried to teach himself French with time he had left, so that he could again read Proust’s In Search of Lost Time, as it was intended. But he was never in a rush and irony wasn’t lost on him.
I will never forget his incredible honesty and the great kindness in his heart.
But overall his immense love for his child Gene, whom he would embrace silently for a full minute each week when Gene arrived at work.
Many happy hours sitting with Vic in his beloved garden, rolling smokes & drinking tea, watching him appreciate his good life, wholeheartedly.
