It has only been just a few days and Anne’s absence from our lives is palpable. Anne was a most excellent friend to me as well as the very finest mother-in-law anyone could hope for. She was fiercely intelligent, had a wicked sense of humour and she was kind and generous. Anne was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, mother-in-law and friend. She enjoyed engaging with people, she listened to people and she asked questions of them because she was genuinely interested. Anne had strong values and lived her life according to those values. She was also passionately independent. She lived her life well and she has been an exceptional role model. We miss her and we will continue to miss her always.

  2. Ruth Curtis says:

Beautiful memories of a much loved sister. Deepest sympathy to Sally, David, Jane and Louise in the loss of their dear mother and to Mary and Fiona in the loss of their mother-in-law. Heart felt sympathy to Anne’s grandchildren Jack, Robert, Harry, Bianca, Anna and Christina. She loved you all so much.
She was a wonderful person and will be sadly missed.

Also to her daughters-in -law, Fiona and Mary. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Jack and Robert, Bianca and Harry, Anna and Cristina, a loving sister to Jim (deceased), Alice, Rita, and Ruth.

Our much loved eldest sister. Always caring and loving. We will miss her very much. Although distance has mostly separated us, we did get together when we could. We seemed just to continued on our relationship where we left off. We will miss our telephone conversations and the confidence that we would be with her again. Deepest sympathy to her family and friends.

From the moment I arrived on your doorstep as the new babysitter we have been friends.
Our marvellous long conversations over the years, and our visits together to the Art Gallery, will remain such happy memories.

    Vale dear friend.

  8. Christine Wallis (Ambridge) says:

Anne, or Aunty Anne as I knew her, was a role model for me as an intelligent and strong woman when I was growing up in the fifties and sixties. Having come from England we had no relatives in Australia and she stepped into the breach. She had more modern ideas than my parents about girls and intelligence and I still remember her encouragement of my academic pursuits. We drifted apart when the family shifted to Sydney but I have often acknowledged her influence. My best wishes to the family who I remember only as small children.

  9. Louise Abbott Rapaud says:

Dearest Mum. She will always live within me as an inspiring example of how to live with courage, dignity and integrity – as a woman and a mother. I admire her immensely for how she brought us up. And I have endless happy memories of her entertaining company – going to films, theatres, restaurants, being with her in the homes she created in Sydney and Melbourne, and was always grateful for her effort to visit me wherever I was living. She was so respectful of my life as an adult, just being supportive and available but never interfering. Because of her, I have so many blessings to count. And now it’s time to go forward as bravely as she did, with her forever by my side.

  10. Jean Abbott says:

  11. Joan Carroll says:

To ALL family members and friends of ANNE ABBOTT.
We have all lost a wonderful woman, but she will always be with us, with so many happy memories.
Anne has been my best friend for many years, starting in Neutral Bay when we were doing our best to sell real estate- very challenging for us both, but we helped each other.
I WILL MISS HER SOOO MUCH *****.

  12. Denise Playoust says:
