David, you were a gem in my life, nourishing me in so many ways, intellectually, with humour, and friendship.
My working life at RMIT was greatly enhanced by your collegiality. Thank you, may you rest in peace buddy.

Very sad to news. I enjoyed all the fun times we spent together at Melbourne Grammar and our fierce sporting competitions.
A good and gifted friend who helped to launch me into adolescence and navigate those bumpy male rites of passage. Good memories.
I read your book and felt your struggles and challenges being in the world but in the end you came through and left an import legacy for us all.
Thank you David and enjoy what’s to come next.

David’s funeral was a perfect tribute to his life, his uniqueness and the wonderful people who live in his circle.
We all moved at times closer and at times further from the nucleus of David’s life.
David and Elaine – priceless to find the person who stabilises that nucleus and stays close. I visited your lovely home in Castlemaine once only, the memory of that perfect union of both of you remains with me.
David, you brave human, I am glad that you lived your best life, have now found your peace, and that you knew how loved and special you were.
    – Sarah
