Ian died at Bupa Aged Care Kyneton on November 4, 2021 aged 86 years.

Dad, I’m finding it hard to say goodbye. Fifty five years ago we were separated, not by choice but by circumstance. It broke my heart then, it’s breaking my heart now. Even though our lives took different paths, you were always my hero. I never stopped loving you. Thankfully in the last part of our lives we were able to see more of each other and our bond grew. Rest in peace now with Valerie, together again. Thank you for being a loving father in law to Made and grandfather to Aaron. They adore you and will miss you always. I won’t say goodbye because I know you’ll always be with me.

Ian, it was wonderful to hear the story of your life, such a hard worker and the love you had for Valerie was so evident.
