  7. Amanda Turner says:

    To Ian’s family,
I just want to send you my sincere condolences on Ian’s passing.
I knew him from visiting with my weekly visits with my two dogs at Ellery house, so I did not know him many years like everyone else.
However in that time we had some good chats about his fishing trips and other things including how he barracked for Essendon like my Dad did.
And what about his service in the CFA? … He was such a humble man, a true gentleman.
I truly mean it when I say it was a privilege to know him.
I will so miss seeing him, no matter what he always said as we were leaving “now you look after yourself”.
    God bless you Ian.
    – Amanda Turner

  10. Marg Dawson says:

To Terry, Ashley, Andrea, Bianca, Matthew and Abby,
I’ve only just heard of Ian’s passing as I’m in England at present.
My deepest condolences to you all.
Although I hadn’t seen Ian for a few years now, my friendship with him and your dear Mum, Joyce, go back a long way as you know. You can be very proud of your Dad and Pa who loved you all so dearly. Not only was he devoted to you but he also devoted so much of his life to the community – CFA, Rotary, Castlemaine Art Gallery – to name a few.
I have very fond memories of all the times I spent with Ian and Joyce and the many laughs we shared.
No more fishing or hunting for Ian. Instead he is finally reunited with his much-loved Joycey and dear son, Rodney.
    – Marg Dawson
