Aged 91 years
Passed away peacefully at home in Castlemaine, surrounded by what he loved most,
his family, and the Australian bush.
Loved and loving husband of Lynne.
Much loved father and father-in law of Matthew and Nirupama, and Alison and Charlie.
Adoring grandfather of Isla, Neve and Maya.
Brother to Patricia, Tony, Susan and Richard (dec).
A private funeral will be held for John.
A State Memorial Service and celebration of John's life will take place at a later date.

I competed many times against John Landy even though I was some years his junior.
He was the most fairest competitor and a real gentleman and truly helped all those with whom he came in contact. As a result of these and many other fine attributes he is still considered one of Australia`s best serving holder of a Vice-Regal position.
It was great to know him back in the fifties and sixties.
