Jack passed away peacefully on 24th July 2023 aged 95.
Loving husband of Rae (dec).
Loved and respected Dad of John and much loved father in law of Tracy.
Loved and adored Grandpa of Kirby and Robert and their partners Mark and Jonathan.
Treasured Old Pa of Harriet and Edith.
The world has lost a true gentleman and role model, a man of principal and an irreplaceable
patriarch providing love, strength and support to our family.

Dear Uncle Chick.
We’re sad that we can’t be there today but we thought we would like to share a few thoughts with everyone. We’re certainly there with you all in spirit.
Early in your life, our Mum was the big sister who pinched her baby brother to keep you awake so she could continue to talk to you.
By example, talking is what we all do well and we always loved sitting around your table drinking tea and just chatting.
We loved chatting over the phone too. You always made us feel so special and loved.
It was wonderful staying with Gran and being able to cross the road and visit you in Elm St. Your home felt like ours.
Although we didn’t see you often after we moved to Rocky, you continued to be a huge influence in our lives. You and our Mum were so close, despite the distance between us all, and we grew up knowing that closeness.
When we come to visit you, we laughed so much at ridiculous stories that our sides almost split. Our dad would shake his head at times
at the silly things we said and laughed at. It was so much fun.
You and Mum gave us our love of sport, more than a little one-eyed at times, but always applauding a game well played. You were so shocked when mum
confessed to being an Essendon supporter.
We were all so sad when you lost Aunty Rae but you continued to be such a stalwart for all of us over the years, always there even though we were away from you.
When we saw you last, you had lost none of your sharpness or your sense of fun. You were a truly amazing man Uncle Chick and we will miss
the feel of your presence in the world. We loved you so much.

John and family – Having worked with Jack for sixteen years we became good friends which continued on as we enjoyed our retirement days.
Jack was very helpful and polite and it was always a pleasure to call in and have a chat about our garage days and various cars. He will be sadly missed.

From the very first day I walked in to the club, as a 17 year old, I was greeted at the door with Jack’s friendly welcome and handshake, full of kindness and enthusiasm. That friendly face was a part of our footy lives.
